How it Works and tips to leverage the most out of this insight:
The Outstanding Loan Balance Insight utilises the data you have entered in against your Loans and your offsets, so keep those up to date to see your progress today!
Make sure the following is correct and up to date to leverage the most out of this insight:
- Loan Outstanding Balance – Update this regularly to see your progress, each update will create a new data point
- Historical Loan Outstanding Balance – Want to see even MORE progress? Open the Historical Change Log to enter previous data. (You can also do this with your offset balance!!)
- Linked Offset Accounts – To see the offset balance inside the insight, ensure the offset is linked to the loan. TIP: Make sure you link the offset with the correct linked date to show the entire benefit, if you have not put in the right date, you can always edit the as at date in the Offset Historical Change Log.
- Offset Current Balance – Update this regularly to see your account balance progress, each update will create a new data point.
Updating the Outstanding Balance Over Time via the Investment Property Card
In our latest release, the investment property card now also features the outstanding balance over time now! If you would like to update the trendline but not sure how, don’t worry! These steps below will guide you.
Here’s how to do it Step-by-Step:
Part One: Your Borrowing’s Outstanding Balance
First, we need to look for the borrowings linked to this property. You can find this directly in the MyFINANCIALS Section. But if you’re unsure which loan is linked to that property, follow these steps below.
- On your Investment Property Card, click on the Cashflow tab
- It’ll show you all your cashflows relating to that particular investment property
- You’ll noticed what you named your mortages linked to this investment property.
- Once you figured out the name of the loans, you can look for them in the MyFINANCIALS section.
- Click on them and under the Details tab, look for the “Outstanding Balance”.
- Hover over the bottom right of the value box—you’ll see a little clock icon appear. Click on it.
- A sidebar will slide out on the right. From here, you can: Click the ( + ) button to add a new property value for a specific year. Or click on any existing value to edit it.
- Once you’re done, just close the sidebar. Your loans’ outstanding balance over time will update automatically!
Part Two: The Offset Balance
Once you’ve done your borrowings, it’s time to update for your Offset Accounts! Here’s how:
- In the Borrowings card, go to the Details tab.
- Look for “Offset Account”. Click on it.
- It’ll open the offset card.
- Look for Account Type and make sure it’s “offset”.
- Then, look for “current balance. Hover over the bottom right of the value box—you’ll see a little clock icon appear. Click on it.
- A sidebar will slide out on the right. From here, you can: Click the ( + ) button to add a new property value for a specific year. Or click on any existing value to edit it.
- Once you’re done, just close the sidebar. Your offset balance over time will update automatically!

To access this insightful feature, simply navigate to your desired loan card on the MyFINANCIALS. From there you will find the Insight tab which will show you the visualisation of your loan balance and if you have an offset your linked offsets overtime.
